John lives in Lyndonville with his wife Gianna, who is a nurse practitioner at a federally qualified health center. He is currently Programs Director for Vital Communities, a nonprofit in White River Junction. Before that, he was an environmental science educator and administrator in high schools in Washington DC, Virginia, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire, with a brief detour as a college track coach in Erie, PA. He grew up in Cranston, RI.
